Welcome
We are unique and there are times in our life when that uniqueness needs us to gain a better understanding of why we react in some situations instead of responding. To check our self-awareness toolkit and decide what life skills need to change or be developed more fully as we grow.
Accepting the emotions that arise throughout our day by being able to stay in the present and not allow our mind to take us on journeys to the past and future, will allow us to live a more balanced, focused life. Remember, emotions are always true, not positive and not negative, they are there to tell you how we are feeling. We just have to learn how to understand, interpret and work with these emotions. Especially if they are affecting our relationships, self-esteem or our life goals.
Consider the many forms of psychological suffering we will experience in our lives – loneliness, boredom, alienation, self-identity, racism, bullying, trauma, relationship breakdown, job loss. How often do we use avoidance or blame when dealing with these life experiences when we could be making room for these thoughts and feelings and taking action in our life.
Speaking with a psychologist can help you make sense of why you might be reacting to a certain situation and give you information and support while you take steps towards living a life that really matters to you.
In the spirit of reconciliation Changes Psychological Services acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to the land, sea and community. We pay respect to their Elders past, present and emerging and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
